Civic Leaders Academy (Volunteer Mentors)
Civic Leaders Academy: Call for Volunteer Mentors
Want to make a real impact in your community and help young people find their voice? Volunteer with the Civic Leaders Academy as a volunteer mentor to middle and high school students (grades 6–12)! You’ll meet twice a month in person at The Practice Space office in Richmond to support students in small groups as they research, write, and record podcasts on social issues they care about. Once recorded, you’ll support them by giving positive and constructive feedback as they prepare for the Civic Leaders Academy Community Panel where they share their learnings with the broader community. You’ll build trust-based relationships, encourage meaningful conversations, and help students take real action in their communities. This volunteer opportunity is open to adults and teens (ages 16+) who are not current Practice Space board members or program participants. Preference is given to mentors who can commit to all dates!
Free, but participants must be accepted in September based on application
